Dallas is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Dallas is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I had an incredible experience at The Crooked Bonsai! My tattoo was done by Naysla, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I had a neo-traditional Aztec jaguar done on my forearm, and the detail, color, and artistry are absolutely top-notch. Naysla is truly one of the best artists I’ve ever met—professional, talented, and passionate about her craft. The studio itself has a super chill and welcoming vibe. It’s spotlessly clean, with art covering the walls, lush plants throughout, and great music playing in the background. Even the bathrooms and artist stations are impeccably clean—you can tell they take hygiene seriously. The apprentice greeted me right when I walked in, which was a nice touch and made the whole experience feel even more friendly and professional. If you’re looking for a talented artist and a studio with great energy, The Crooked Bonsai is the place to go. I can’t recommend Naysla enough!

If you’re after incredible realism tattoos, Chase is the artist to see. His work is flawless—detailed, lifelike portraits and designs that truly stand out. From the consultation to aftercare, the whole process is smooth, with expert guidance to ensure your vision comes to life perfectly. The studio is clean and professional, and you'll leave with a tattoo that's more than just ink—it’s a work of art. Highly recommend booking with Chase if you want a truly exceptional piece.

Chase is an absolutely phenomenal tattoo artist, and very humble. I can't say enough good things about his work. I was so impressed with his talent that I dedicated an entire arm to his artistry. His ability to create stunning realism tattoos is unmatched—every detail is so precise and lifelike, it's truly incredible. What sets him apart even more is the time and care he takes with each piece; you can tell he’s genuinely passionate about what he does, and it shows in the quality of his work. Booking with him is a breeze as well—his team is super responsive, and they get back to you quickly, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. It's rare to find someone who not only has this level of skill but also provides such excellent customer service. If you're looking for an amazing tattoo, look no further—Chase is hands down one of the best out there. Such a badass artist, truly a master at his craft!

Before meeting Lorenzo, I spent many years laser removing a previous tattoo. I knew when the time came to find an artist to rework my arm that it would have to be someone special. I wasn't sure how that would play out or how I would know it was the right decision, but after meeting Lorenzo at a tattoo convention it started to fall into place. Lorenzo is extremely approachable, kind, and understanding. He made my ideas feel heard and seen and was encouraging through the whole process. He is incredibly professional and talented, but also down-to-earth and wants the best for your design. Looking at the design now, you cannot tell we covered up previous work. While the lasering helped, I knew going into it, that it would take him more effort and work. I am beyond thankful for his willingness and expertise. We did a mixture of both stenciling and free hand to get the perfect balance. Still lasering the inner arm, so ignore that part. Getting tattooed is an energy exchange for sure—something you will always remember and carry with you. I am proud to carry his design with me. Finally feel like myself again, perhaps a better version. Kelsey Nashville, TN.

I would like to share my experience with Lorenzo Lopez, co-owner of The Crooked Bonsai in Dallas, TX. I will start by saying I heavily researched artists from all over, and I searched for probably a decade before I finally pulled the trigger on a sleeve. Lorenzo first caught my eye probably 4-5 years ago when he was working at a different shop. I kept an eye on his work over that time and decided I definitely wanted to approach him for my first sleeve. He is a lover of Japanese styles, such as myself, and he has insane artistry. Anyhow, one night my wife and I had a bit much too drink on vacation in Tulum and I found the courage to reach out to set up the appointment to get started. I did meet with him about a year before I set up the appointment for a consultation, and he was super nice from the get go. The first day Lorenzo took time to show my the initial sketch/idea. We made a couple tweaks and it was off to the races. I requested a 3/4 sleeve, and the design is a tiger samurai, with a little gnarly frog samurai as well. We also added cherry blossoms, a chrysanthemum, and wind tunnels for the background. The whole process took probably 5 1/2 sessions if I recall right, and the
